Peanut Brittle

Finally . . . I tried my hand at peanut brittle. It turned out great! Simple to make, and yummy. Today is "B" day (for school), so B for brittle :). I got the recipe from allrecipes.com.

Just a note: The first few times I made this I did it as the recipe said, using lard (that's what I used instead of butter), but then I made it with no fat at all. It is great! I see no need for the butter (or lard). And, it was greasy when I made it with the lard. Also, I usually add some vanilla - it adds a nice flavor.

We also made Jalepeno Peanut Brittle . . . basically regular peanut brittle with a spicy kick to it. Check it out on my mom's blog here - http://okieranchlife.blogspot.com/2010/10/31-for-21-jalapeno-peanut-brittle.html. And, you can buy some we made here - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dllViewItem&item=120631255481&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT.

new design + name

As of 1-3-12: I've re-named my blog name (which used to be "Hanunyah's Sweet Creations") to "Ranch Girl's Sweets 'N' Treats". "Sweet Creations" is a pretty common name, so I figured I'd change it to something a little different ;). My URL is still the same, though.

Also, a big thanks goes to my older sister (@ CountryGirlWebDesign.com) who has re-designed my blog and fixed-up all of the HTML. So, I hope you enjoy the new layout!
