A Step Aside . . .

A salad (GAPS friendly) that was made the other night - home grown, smoked and cured bacon, tomatoes, boiled eggs, broccoli, piled on top of crisp lettuce - would you really need dressing?

from sweet things. One of my oldest sisters, who usually makes dinner, went to soccer practice the other day. I stayed home and made dinner for the GAPS folks in the family. Here are some pictures ~ just a step aside from the sugar ;).

Oh, and I added some sweetness back to the table with this sooo simple and sooo good fruit salad. Just fresh fruit - the simpler, the better (no dressing).

And, if you're thinking "no way, GAPS chips?!?!" - sorry, but these are good ol' homemade, deep-fryed corn tortilla chips - for those who can handle them.

31 for 21: Flourless Banana Cake/Custard (GAPS)

This is sooo simple - bananas, eggs and an oven. It's in between a cake and a custard, but very yummy and the ripe bananas make it very sweet.

Flourless Banana Cake/Custard (GAPS legal, Grain, Sugar, Dairy, Corn, Soy, etc. free)

5 eggs
5 banana

Whip bananas and eggs in a food processor or blender.
Pour into a 8x8 inch baking pan.
Bake at 325F for about an hour, until light brown or until when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

21st Birthday Party for my Sister

About a week ago was my 2nd oldest sister's birthday. We surprised her the day before her birthday and took her out to eat. The day of her birthday she had to go to town (actually for her broken arm . . . but that's a different story), so we got everything ready while she was gone. We usually go over to the neighbor's (friends) for dinner on Monday nights anyway . . . but this time all of our friends came and surprised her.

Here is the cake I made for her ~

. . . AFTER I frosted the entire thing I realized I forgot to put filling in . . . oh well.

Here are some pictures of other goodies from the party

new design + name

As of 1-3-12: I've re-named my blog name (which used to be "Hanunyah's Sweet Creations") to "Ranch Girl's Sweets 'N' Treats". "Sweet Creations" is a pretty common name, so I figured I'd change it to something a little different ;). My URL is still the same, though.

Also, a big thanks goes to my older sister (@ CountryGirlWebDesign.com) who has re-designed my blog and fixed-up all of the HTML. So, I hope you enjoy the new layout!
